Causes of Anemia in Children

Anemia can be caused by many situations:

1 – Iron deficiency is the leading cause of childhood anemia. A diet low in foods rich in iron can cause anemia.

2 – A parasitic disease can also cause intestinal bleeding due to be eaten by worms.

3 – The anemia can also be caused by disease or infection, and urinary, tuberculosis, malaria, tumors, typhoid fever, leukemia, among others.

4 – In cases where children under one year to take whole milk or other animals. Ingestion of milk at this age can lead to loss of red blood cells, causing a periodic output of red blood cells to the intestinal lumen and eventually anemia.

5 – daily exposure to air pollution produced by factories in paints, dyes, batteries and metalworking shops. Such situations can lead to progressive lead poisoning of the body and cause severe anemia.

6 – Some antibiotics can cause anemia, when used for a long time. For this reason, if the doctor prescribes an antibiotic, questions about side effects with it. It is always advisable to know what you’re taking.

7 – The anemia may also be a deficiency in vitamin B12
