Treating Scarlet Fever
First, the diagnosis. By age, contacts, medical history, physical analysis, as well as exudate of Maw tests with culture and rapid screening tests for the bacteria in the throat. The results take 2 days. If disease is confirmed, your doctor will prescribe an antibiotic.
The treatment is effective in 2 days, but the improvement does not mean you should stop taking medication. It is normal to find children with complications of non-compliance with antibiotic treatment of 10 days (minimum 7 days). The child may return to school after 48 hours of starting antibiotic treatment.
