The Risks of Excessive Television Viewing

Many years since children naturally coexist with the TV screen and know that she learn and adopt habits. When it comes to television, there are two problems that we must take into account: the time our children spend in front of her and the kind of programs they watch.
Regarding the first point, it is advisable to set a maximum time in advance. Thus, our children learn gradually to select what they like, without acquiring the habit of sitting watching TV, and swallow everything you throw, whatever. The theme of the programming is a bit more complex and difficult to solve, it is important that we use on common sense. It is true that many television content that may be harmful to small but it is also true that there are programs for children who are very creative and spark their curiosity about things. Personally, I choose to protect my daughters and accompany violent scenes that may be formed for certain criteria when choosing what to watch on TV. In addition, the lower the negative influence of television to discuss and exchange views on what they see.
However, there are children who spend much time watching television, even longer than that used in any other activity other than sleep. This excess is harmful television in many respects. Here we have some of the consequences of abuse of excessive television viewing.
* Eye disorders where watching television should be lit and the display never less than 3 meters closer cause eyestrain and eye disorders, can also cause headaches.
* Sleep disturbances: see violent programs, exciting or too noisy to bedtime can cause insomnia and nightmares in children.
* Consumption Habits Harmful misguided advertising encourages children to ask everything they see.
* Unsocial behavior: addiction to television takes time away from the child to play with other children, to interact with other people, or spend hours in front of the screen is only limited to listening, to receive without participating.
* Others: teleaddiction challenges the intellect, produces obesity, signs of depression, immaturity, frustration, laziness and fatigue.
In summary, television can be great entertainment for our children and can teach some things, but … not abuse!: I assure you that when children begin to pursue other avenues of entertainment things are not so bad, even better go that when the TV queen stands in the living room.
